Research context
Acetic acid is a solvent. It is not an active substance — it is a tool.
It is used as a dilute, mildly acidic aqueous solution to reconstitute lyophilised (powdered) peptides in the laboratory.
Some peptides are 'difficult': they do not dissolve cleanly in plain water and form aggregates or cloudiness.
A slightly acidic environment helps these hydrophobic molecules go fully into solution.
For peptides that already dissolve easily, it adds nothing — a simpler solvent is preferred.
It contains no preservative. For that reason it is treated as a single-use tool, not a medium for long storage.
Used as an acidic diluent for reconstituting lyophilized peptides that show limited solubility at neutral pH.
Research Use Only. Laboratory consumable. Not intended for human or veterinary use, nor for consumption. This is not a medicinal or food product.
